Admittedly, I haven’t had much of chance to get to know the new Pope, but he’s already starting to grow on me. He seems like ‘Easter people’.

Today’s find: Empty and beautiful, empty and inviting
I love the way the church building at my parish looks on Holy Saturday morning.
Today’s find: Hidden treasure
On Good Friday, the Jesuits of Great Britain invite us to consider Jesus, on the cross, his divinity hidden from our eyes.
Today’s find: All in
Sometimes I can be pretty thick-headed – a tick slow on the uptake.
Today’s find: A pilgrim’s progress
My heart is full on this final day of Lent in 2013. I am overwhelmed by the abundance of ‘found’ spiritual gifts that have been showered on me over the past six weeks. I am humbled, too, by the outpouring of support (both ‘real’ and ‘virtual’) I have received because of this blog.
Today’s find: Giving it away
Some of the holiest people I know are those who have encountered Christ through the 12 Steps. (Or more accurately, those who have encountered a Power greater than themselves in and through their programs.)
Among the other holiest people I know on earth are those I have met ‘inside the joint’ through Kairos Prison Ministry in recent years.
Both groups are on my mind and in my heart today.
Today’s find: Taking my rubbish to the curb…
It was a gorgeous day in the St. Louis area Saturday – had that ‘first day of spring’ kind of feel to it. Bright sunshine, balmy temperatures. The perfect day to do that deep pruning on the landscaping out front.
Today’s find: Hosanna, Ducks.
I suppose I should tip my cap to the Oregon Ducks, but my heart’s not in it.
Today’s find: Scapegoat or Lamb?
With Palm Sunday coming up tomorrow, we focused quite a bit on Jesus’ passion and death during our ACTS team meeting today. And I heard it again – the phrase that always seems to roil my spirit just a bit: ‘Jesus died for our sins.’
Today’s find: My rock. My cave.
One of the great recent blessings in my life was the chance to spend a little time in the desert southwest. We call it our ‘Grand Canyon’ vacation. But in truth, a side trip to Monument Valley in southern Utah was my favorite stop along the way.
